Climb for Cancer in a non-profit initiative that encourages amateur hikers & adventure enthusiasts to climb mountain peaks around the world in an effort to raise money for children suffering from cancer. Climbers’ fund their own trip and are responsible for covering all their personal costs themselves including tickets, equipment, and hiking expenses. This ensures that 100% of the donations raised goes towards the treatment of the cancer patients we are supporting.
For transparency purposes, donations are made directly to the affiliated hospital or Cancer Center and Climb for Cancer does not get involved in these financials, or any other transactions whatsoever. C4C simply provide you with a fun & challenging way of helping children suffering from cancer.
With Mt. Kilimanjaro as its first challenge, Climb for Cancer will see a small group of enthusiasts take the inaugural trip in September 2010, set to last 9 days. Mt Kilamanjaro, which rises 5,895 metres into the Tanzanian skyline is Africa's highest peak, and the world’s tallest free-standing mountain. This climb and those to follow in forthcoming years, will not only be an adventure exercised to raise awareness and funds for a worthy cause, but also a journey of self-discovery and personal test for those who have chosen to undertake this rewarding challenge.
